Ok, now I know why you atheists get so spittin' mad at some believers.
by Julia Orwell incuz they feel like they're banging their heads against a wall.. i don't really fall into the category of atheist or believer, but i'll go where the facts lead me.
that generally leads to atheism, and is why atheists end up getting mad and therefore rude at believers: they will lay out facts, raise questions, play devil's advocate, and reason in an evidence-based, structured way.
i've seen it many times before on this forum.

I've seen it many times before on this forum. Well folks, I've been trying to reason with a JW.
It goes round in circles. Anything too hard to answer is ignored or "I'll have to do research on that." They pipe in about how they must be Truth because of the Big Three doctrines, hellfire, immortality and Trinity. You point out facts from independently verifiable sources. Then they accuse you of mockery and negativity. Then say you are unappreciative of what Jehovah did for you. Then it starts again. Something from the Watchtower. Something in circles.
Makes me wanna tell him to STFU and say, "fine, you stupid #%&@, have your $@%$&*#!!! cult!!!!" Not exactly persuasive or logical argument, but you get so mad!!!!
Now I understand so many of the less-than-logical things posted here by atheists.

More WT Propaganda: Low Paying Jobs are OK for Family Heads. Just "Don't Miss the Meetings!"
by Oubliette ingod, evidently, wants you to be poor: .
a newly baptized brother is married, and he and his wife have three small children.
one day, a workmate suggested that he and the brother move to another company that paid a higher wage and provided more benefits.

There are JWs who help the oldies and disadvantaged ones, but non-JWs do the exact same to help their own families, friends and communities. JWs are no different really: some are generous, some say "Go in peace and be well fed".

LOL and Jesus may not have had anywhere to lay his head, but he knew his ministry was only for 3 odd years so it doesn't matter. It's a bit harder if you're pushing 80 and living under a bridge after a 60+ year ministry, or like the old timers I know of rotting in old folks' home with nothing but a roof over their heads, and the only contact they get is when some JWs pass him around among themselves to picks them up once a week for the meeting, after which it's back to the old folks' home with no visitor until next week when some JW family gets cadged into shoving him in the car in the back with the kids.

Funny, now my husband and I aren't rushing from pillar to post to get ready for meetings, prep our loungeroom for the witnessing group, have him rushing to get to the hall early and stay late to do the magazine counter and sound system, and driving to and from assemblies in the boondocks and getting suits drycleaned and all the stupid prestudy, we actually have a lot more time with each other, even though he now has a job that causes him to miss meetings. Now we don't have to work as much as we did when we were JWs because we don't have to pay for meeting clothes, we use far less petrol, no contributions, tolls for the road to the assemblies, parking at the DC and all that.
If Andre or whoever actually stopped all the JW stuff he wouldn't need to work as much...ironic.
I work heaps less than when I was a JW and seem to have more money around these days...

Nov 20, 2013 Letter to All Congregations (RE: Phillipines Disaster Relief)
by Gayle in"however, it would be appreciated if such donations are made without restrictions as to where and how the funds may be used.
" additionally, at this time, there is no need for donations of food, clothing, or other items.
if such needs arise in the future, you will be notified accordingly.

630 000 people displaced. That's more than the population of the city I live in. The GB could afford to house all those people I'm sure, but they need to 'advance pure worship' by building themselves a resort.

Why I am upset with myself for my atheistic beliefs
by confusedandalone inyesterday me and the wife were talking about how much better life has become.
she said something that got me thinking and made me a bit sad for a while.
we were discussing where we are at individually in our quest for understanding about the "super-natural" and i expressed i have no belief in it at all and how much i have changed she says, "i don't think you have changed much.

It's all good. Probably because all your life you've been told atheists are immoral, irresponsible and stupid is bearing on your conscience. You are probably feeling guilty for becoming the thing JWs derided more than believers 'caught up in false religion'. But I'm sure it will pass like everything. Heck, I'm still scared of Christmas, but it won't be forever...you'll work it out.

That is not a serious question- Cofty
LOL that cracked me up so much. So true. I was expecting a question like, "If evolution is true, does that mean genocide is justified as a stronger group prevailing over a weaker group that lacked the necessary ability to adapt to survive?" not some silly question about comic fantasy characters!!!
